There were 41 Charter members of the Queen City (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The chapter grew from the Queen City Women’s Club established in 2000, and was organized by Margaret Horton, Sylvia Joyner, and Paulette Keys.

Since 2005, Queen City (OH) Chapter has implemented the following programs:

  • “Health Links – Making Connections for a Healthier You” Community Health Fair
  • Nutrition, Physical Activity and Academic Workshops at Lincoln Heights Elementary School
  • Social development program (Peace Pals) at Lincoln Heights Elementary School
  • International Festival
  • MAAMA Kit Project awareness Campaign

Additionally, the chapter annually supports local cancer research efforts in honor of a very valuable citizen, Mrs. Gloria Byrd, who died from breast cancer in 2003. These programs include: hosting the Mobile Mammography Breast Cancer Screening Van, participating in Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk and participating in the Relay for Life community event. Each year, the chapter presents the “Gloria A. Byrd Scholastic Achievement Award” to deserving female students who reside in the Princeton (OH) school district. The scholarship funds are raised through the “Ladies Who Lunch” Luncheon and Silent Auction event held annually during the 2nd Saturday in May.
